About Me

My name is Stacy Cronquist. I am beyond blessed to say that I have my dream job as a 3rd grade teacher in small-town Colorado. My husband, Adam, and I have a sweet baby boy, Travis, who was born in April 2018. I am also dog-mom to two adorable little wiggle-butt boxers, Champ and Layla. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. I also have my master’s degree in Curriculum Instruction.

I’ll start by letting you know that I am NOT a veteran teacher. I have only been teaching a handful of years, and I am the first to admit that I do not have all the answers to teaching. What I will say is that I am confident in my ability to teach research-based practices. I believe in backwards planning (finding the standard/target first, and THEN creating the lesson around that). I believe in scaffolding my students’ learning and differentiating each individual’s needs. In addition, I believe in developmentally appropriate instruction. On top of all of that, I believe in creating motivating lessons to help even the most unengaged students. Am I a professional at doing all of these things I believe in?? Heavens no. I am a work in progress, but I am working my hardest at it for the sake of my students.

Teaching is my passion and my purpose. I am working my best to be "ever learning" to adapt to the needs of my students. I believe in personal development above all in order to be successful. You will see a lot of my personal development journey in this blog as I strive to grow professionally, physically, and spiritually.

The fact that you are reading this right now lets me know that you are similar to me. You are reading a teacher blog, much like I often do, to try and learn something new. I often reach out to other teachers or search the internet on Pinterest, TeachersPayTeachers, Twitter, and/or Instagram to see what other teachers are up to. Sometimes it helps me plan lessons. Other times it helps me learn a little about classroom management. Sometimes it even helps me stay positive and motivated just to see someone doing something similar to me. Regardless of your reason for being on this blog right now, I hope you learn something too. And I hope you share with me something that you have that works for you! Please contact me with any questions and/or comments. I would love to talk with you!
